This month’s theme for the Gardening Gone Wild Photo Contest is “best frame”. This is probably my most favorite plant photo that I’ve taken to date… saucer magnolias at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, CA. I used it as my iPhone background for a while even. It’s simple, and yet, breathtaking with the contrast of flowers against the blue sky. Click to embiggen.

Hi, Kimberly. That is a truly astonishing photo. I’m in awe of the number of blossoms on those magnolias. Around here we get a nice display but nothing like that. It is a sign of my age that when I think Wallpaper I think that stuff that goes on the walls, and all I could think was how hard it would be to match that pattern!
Great entry for the contest. Good luck.
